Experience a place where connections, creativity, and community come together for families of all ages. Discovery of Connections, created by Amy McCamly, founder of Discovery of Learning, expands beyond her homeschool roots to offer programs for the entire local community.

Open to all families, from 5 years old to teens, Discovery of Connections provides professionally led 8-week classes that spark creativity, encourage meaningful relationships, and create lasting memories. Whether you’re seeking enriching activities for your children or opportunities to build a sense of community, our programs are designed to inspire and support every family.

Classes for 5+ and Families
Paint & Snack
A family-friendly painting event where everyone can create their own masterpiece while enjoying snacks together!
Paint and Snack is a fun and engaging class inspired by the popular “paint-and-sip” concept. Families can choose to paint together, guided by a skilled local artist, or feel free to drop off your child (ages 5+). Each participant will follow step-by-step instructions to create a designated masterpiece while enjoying delicious snacks.
This class provides a relaxed and enjoyable environment where creativity flourishes. Whether you’re looking for a family bonding activity or a creative drop-off experience for your child, this event offers a fun and rewarding way to express artistic talent.
$35 per person – all supplies included.

Yoga for Young Minds
Classes offered for the following ages: (5-18)
Yoga for children led by a professional instructor, teaching strength building, flexibility, coordination, and the many benefits of yoga.
This 8-week yoga class is designed to help children strengthen their bodies, improve flexibility, balance, and coordination, while discovering the many benefits of yoga. Led by professional instructors, children will learn proper form and breathing techniques through exercises tailored to their abilities.
This program encourages confidence, growth, and a positive connection to movement, providing children with tools they can carry into their everyday lives. Yoga for Young Minds offers a meaningful way for children to stay active, stretch, and develop lifelong wellness habits in a supportive environment.
$120 for entire 8-week session.

Children’s Crochet
Classes offered for the following ages: (8+)
A class designed for children to learn crocheting techniques, step by step, from skilled instructors and take home their creations.
Children’s Crochet is an 8-week class where children can learn a valuable new skill under the guidance of experienced instructors who make the process engaging and easy to follow. This class introduces the basics of crocheting, inspiring creativity and encouraging children to continue practicing beyond the program.
With step-by-step instruction, children will create their own unique crafts, building fine motor skills, patience, and a sense of accomplishment. Each child will take home their creations, making this a memorable and rewarding experience that nurtures lifelong creativity.
$120 for entire 8-week session.

Teen Hang Out (13-18)
A monthly event where teens gain independence, build friendships, and enjoy fun, supervised activities in a phone-free environment.
Do you struggle to find a space where your teen can have fun, meet friends, and gain
independence—all without worry? Teen Hang Out is the perfect solution.
This monthly event, led by professional instructors, provides a safe, supervised environment where teens can connect, participate in fun activities, and build lasting friendships. Phones are put away,
encouraging teens to be fully present and engaged in group games, challenges, and creative
projects. It’s the ideal way for teens to enjoy independence while you have peace of mind. Dinner is also included!
$25 p/child – dinner included!

Parent Night Out (Potty Trained+)
Enjoy a child-free evening while your kiddos participate in games, activities, and fun under the guidance of experienced instructors.
Parent Night Out is a once-a-month opportunity for parents to relax and recharge while their
children enjoy an evening of fun and connection. This event is supervised by experienced
instructors who lead children through engaging activities, including games, crafts, and
interactive entertainment. Dinner is also included!
Whether you use the time for a quiet evening at home or a night out, you can feel confident knowing your children are having a great time in a safe and enriching environment. Each month features new activities, ensuring every event is fresh, exciting, and memorable.
$30 p/child – dinner included!

American Sign Language(ASL)
Classes offered for the following ages: (5-18)
Children ages 5 and up can learn the fundamentals of American Sign Language (ASL) in this hands-on 8-week class taught by a professional ASL instructor. Your child will explore the alphabet, common words, and useful phrases through fun and engaging activities.
This class not only teaches a practical and valuable skill, but it also encourages children to appreciate the value of meaningful communication in a way that’s creative, unique, and rewarding.
$120 for entire 8-week session.

Navigating the Teen Years (11-15 yrs)
This course is designed to equip parents and their preteens with the knowledge and tools needed to transition smoothly from childhood to young adulthood. This course explores key developmental changes, decision-making skills, and the influence of culture on today’s teens.
Through guided discussions and faith-based insights, families will learn strategies to support their child’s growth while strengthening communication and relationships. Covering topics like emotional and cognitive development, Biblical perspectives on adolescence, and ways to guide teens through life’s challenges, this class offers practical takeaways for both parents and kids.
This course is intended for families with children ages 11-15, and teens are strongly encouraged to attend alongside their parents.
$150 per teen (for 4 weeks)

Meet Our Team
Our Director

Jenny Smith is passionate about creating a program that supports families and helps children thrive. As a homeschooling mom of three children aged 2 to 10, she understands the unique needs of families and brings both personal and professional expertise to Discovery of Connections. Jenny holds an Associate’s Degree from North Idaho College and pursued her studies in Childhood Development with a minor in Psychology at the University of Idaho. With over a decade of experience in a youth psychiatric unit and several years teaching preschool, Jenny’s background reflects her dedication to working with children in loving and supportive environments. When she’s not leading Discovery of Connections, Jenny enjoys homeschooling her children, baking sourdough for loved ones, and practicing jiu-jitsu. Her thoughtful leadership and commitment to families make her an integral part of the program.
