Our Long Beach Campus offers Program Days for TK-12th Grade on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am-2:30pm
And offers an Elective Day on Wednesdays from 10:00am-3:00pm. Electives can be enrolled in as a one day enrichment or can be added to our Program Days to support your family's educational journal.
Each campus is directed by a team of leaders who are trained in Discovery of Learning Policies and Procedures - "The DOL Way!" as well as trained in Conscious Leadership. We believe that each campus team has the job of creating an environment where children, parents, and staff feel welcome and accepted. Recognizing various learning and personality styles and communicating accordingly. This team also invests their energy into planning community building events on and off campus, such as parent support meetings, family fun activities, meet and greet events and off campus family meetup opportunities. We look forward to having you as part of our community and hope that you join us on facebook and meetup as well as join our CLOSED DOL Long Beach group on facebook (for enrolled families only).

A Discovery of Learning Teacher is someone who works with children; together, the child and teacher create a learning experience that is based on the child’s interests and abilities, as well as in partnership with the family to be a support to the family's educational journey.
Our teachers are knowledgeable in a wide variety of subjects to keep the children engaged in the learning process. They bring a passion for education and a spirit of inspiration to our learning environment.
We are often asked, "Are all DOL teachers credentialed"?
As an Enrichment Center a credential is not a requirement, however, our teachers...
We absolutely love and look for teachers with a zest for education, an open mind to family choice, and an exceptional background in working with children, families and as an advocate for alternative education. Becoming a DOL teacher is a lengthy process that we pride ourselves on. We do not simply look to fill a position, rather we look for an educator who is aligned with our philosophy, is open to reflection and feedback regarding teaching strategies and educational approaches. Our teachers are provided a multitude of training methods to ensure they understand the DOL way and so parents know that each campus and classroom is run in the same caring and nurturing way.
